Merchient’s ingredient library

What can you say about Bacillus coagulans in your ads and on your site?

The library gives no supported wording for Bacillus coagulans, because no listed source supports one at a dose. Avoid wording that names or implies a disease, a drug or a treatment, such as “Relieves IBS or IBS symptoms”.

Also called: Weizmannia coagulans, Heyndrickxia coagulans, Lactobacillus sporogenes

Reviewed

Not legal advice. This guide shows the wording that published evidence supports at a daily dose; it is not a ruling on any claim. Your own product, its form and dose, and your own evidence still need to match the wording you use.

Claims Facts

No supported wording yet.

No listed source gives a use with a dose for Bacillus coagulans. Health Canada’s probiotics monograph (dated 24 April 2026) excludes it, with Bacillus clausii, Bacillus indicus and Bacillus subtilis, in Appendix I, Table 6 (‘Excluded live microorganisms from this monograph’), so none of its uses or doses apply, and no other Health Canada monograph for it is in the monograph list. FDA lists no health claim, and Regulation (EU) No 432/2012 has none.
