Data deletion

Ask us to delete your data

Email hello@merchient.com with your brand name. Your data is deleted within 30 days, and we reply to confirm when it is done.

This covers the ad account data you shared with us, the data we received through a Klaviyo key, a review-app key or the Shopify install, your reports and briefs, the public content we collected about your brand, and our emails with you. We keep only the billing records that tax law requires us to keep. The providers that process data for us, listed in our privacy policy, handle any copies they hold under their own terms.

Prospects, brands we have not worked with yet, can ask the same way.

Remove Merchient’s access in Meta

You can remove Merchient’s view-only access to your ad account at any time, without asking us. You need full control of your business portfolio.

  1. Go to Settings in Meta Business Suite for your business portfolio, at business.facebook.com/settings.
  2. Click Partners in the menu on the left, then select Merchient.
  3. Click Options in the top right, then select Remove from business portfolio.
  4. Click Remove partner.

These steps follow Meta’s Business Help Center article Remove partners from your business portfolio. Once access is removed, Vera can no longer read the account. Removing access does not delete the data we already hold; email us for that.

Remove Merchient’s access in Klaviyo

If you have sent us a read-only Klaviyo API key, you can disable it at any time, without asking us. You need permission to manage API keys in Klaviyo.

  1. Log in to Klaviyo and go to Settings, then API keys.
  2. Find the key you sent us, by its name.
  3. Click the … (more options) menu next to the key, select Disable, and confirm.

These steps follow Klaviyo’s help article Managing your API keys: disabling and re-enabling. Once the key is disabled, Vera can no longer read your Klaviyo account. Klaviyo lets you delete a disabled key for good from the same menu. Disabling a key does not delete the data we already hold; email us for that.

Remove Merchient’s access in a review app

If you have given us a read-only key for a review app, you can remove it at any time, without asking us. Review apps differ, so we cannot give one set of steps. In your review app’s settings, find the API key or integration you gave us and delete or disable it; the app’s help pages have the exact menu names. Once the key is gone, Vera can no longer read your reviews through that app; she still reads the reviews on your public pages. Removing the key does not delete the data we already hold; email us for that.

Remove Merchient’s access in Shopify

You can uninstall Merchient from your Shopify store at any time, without asking us.

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Settings, then Apps.
  2. Open the Menu (three dots) for Merchient and choose Uninstall.
  3. Click Uninstall to confirm.

These steps follow Shopify’s Help Center article Uninstalling apps. Once Merchient is uninstalled, Vera can no longer read your store. Uninstalling does not delete the data we already hold; email us for that.
