Connect your surfaces

Updated

Vera 360 reads every surface you connect. Here is what you do for each one. Vera never posts, edits or pauses anything in your accounts: she reads, and she drafts.

Website

  1. Send Vera your website address: type it in the scan box on the home page, or email it to hello@merchient.com.
  2. Vera reads your public pages. Nothing to log in to, no software.

If you run a Shopify store

If a Merchient person asks you to open a Shopify connection link, open it and approve the connection in Shopify. The page that follows says “Your store is connected to Merchient.” and there is nothing else to do. The link lets Merchient read your store’s products, pages, inventory and discounts; Merchient reads, and never changes anything in your store without you.

Meta ads

After you join, share your Meta ad account with Merchient as a partner, with view-only access. It takes two minutes. Nothing to log in to, no software. You get the full first report within 48 hours of connecting, counted from when you share it.

Before you start

The steps

  1. Go to Settings in Meta Business Suite for your business portfolio, at business.facebook.com/settings.
  2. Click Partners in the Users section of the menu on the left.
  3. Click Add, then select Give a partner access to your assets.
  4. Enter Merchient’s business portfolio ID, 1903112860670263, then click Next.
  5. Choose your ad account. Give partial access and select one task only: View performance. Leave Manage campaigns, Manage Creative Hub mockups and full access (Manage ad accounts) off.
  6. Click Assign assets.

Someone else with full control of your business portfolio may need to approve it. Once it is done, Merchient appears under Partners, and both of us can see the shared ad account in our own Settings.

These steps and menu names follow Meta’s Business Help Center: Give a partner access to business assets in your business portfolio, Business portfolio assets and their task-based access settings and Remove partners from your business portfolio. Meta changes its menus from time to time; if yours look different, those articles have the current steps.

What we can see

With View performance, we can
View ads. Access reports.
We cannot
Create and edit ads. View, create and edit mockups in Creative Hub. Control ad account settings, finances and permissions.

Those are Meta’s own words for each task. With View performance, Meta lets a partner view ads and access reports, and nothing more. For Merchient, that means your ads, their review status, their landing URLs and their spend: the ad account data listed in our privacy policy.

We cannot change anything

View performance does not include creating or editing ads, or controlling the ad account’s settings, finances and permissions. So we cannot create, edit, pause or publish an ad, and we cannot change your settings, finances or who has access. Vera never posts, edits or pauses anything in your accounts: she reads, and she drafts.

Removing our access

You can remove Merchient at any time, without asking us: in Settings, click Partners, select Merchient, click Options in the top right, select Remove from business portfolio, then click Remove partner. Removing access does not delete what we already hold; the data deletion page explains both.
